This unique event is provided for our citizens with disabilities and the general public. We host a picnic at Mary Ross Park (located at 10 F Street) in downtown Brunswick. This is a fun-filled afternoon of FREE food, activities, live entertainment, and information on local disability-related services and support. The Spring Fling is ALWAYS SO MUCH FUN!
Each summer we host a FREE "Lunch and Learn" Seminar on a topic of interest for people with disabilities and their caregivers. The event is FREE and open to the public, however space is limited and reservations are required. Please stay tuned for next year's summer event. It is a perfect opportunity to network with each other and enjoy a good lunch, too!
In October of each year, in connection with National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Council honors an exceptional local employer that has made significant impacts in our community. We celebrate their efforts to promote the employment and inclusion of people with disabilities. Last year, we hosted our annual award luncheon at the Sunrise Diner in Brunswick.
Congratulations to our 2023 Award recipient - The Glynn County Board of Education. We greatly appreciate and celebrate your continued efforts to employ people with all types of disabilities, and to support and train disabled students for employment.
Our annual luncheon is always FREE and open to the public. Please stay tuned and join us this year in October.
